Minneapolis Shoegaze Five-Piece she’s green Share Empty House + Official Video — New EP ‘Swallowtail’ Out July 10 via Photo Finish Records
Minneapolis dream pop and shoegaze outfit she’s green are back with another gorgeous slice of their signature “moss music.” The band has shared their brand new single, empty house, along with an official music video directed by the band themselves — and it’s exactly the kind of hazy, emotionally resonant offering we’ve come to expect from one of the most exciting names in the North American shoegaze revival.
empty house is the second preview of she’s green’s forthcoming EP, ‘Swallowtail’, which drops July 10, 2026 via Photo Finish Records. The track opens with lo-fi, atmospheric guitar riffs before velvety drums settle in beneath Zofia Smith’s luminous vocals, crafting a tone that’s quietly empathetic and deeply introspective.
Bandleader Zofia Smith explains the concept behind the song:
“empty house is a metaphor for the beauty of life’s impermanence. It pictures your body as an empty house, a place in constant wear and repair, where things come and go — people, memories, and pieces of ourselves.”
The video echoes that theme beautifully, exploring how life exists in a constant state of ephemerality — ebbing and flowing as we grow. It’s the kind of visual that lingers long after the song ends.

From China to KEXP: she’s green Has Been Having a Moment
2026 has already been a massive year for the five-piece. They kicked things off with a fully sold-out headlining run in China — their debut there — followed by the premiere of their first KEXP session, which DJ Cheryl Waters called “absolutely beautiful.” Both NME and Alternative Press have named them a Band to Watch, with AP noting their ability to carve out music that feels “both fragile and self-assured.”
empty house follows earlier singles paper thin — a gauzy meditation on love and lust — and mettle, which channeled the anxiety of a grim world into something thunderous and hopeful. All three tracks are part of ‘Swallowtail’, which rounds out a full-length the band has been building toward since their acclaimed 2025 EP, ‘Chrysalis’.
‘Chrysalis’ — recorded in part with Slow Pulp’s Henry Stoehr — introduced a wider audience to she’s green’s world of shimmering guitars, wistful vocals, and immersive sonic texture. Fans of Slowdive, Cocteau Twins, and anything fuzzed-out and dreamy, take note.
