Downtown Boys has rattled ribs and consciousness with a thrashing collection of songs about smashing the prison-industrial complex, racism, queerphobia, capitalism, fascism, boredom, and all things people use to try to close our minds, eyes and hearts. With a recent Rolling Stone feature and dubbed “Best of 2015” by Pitchfork, NME, NPR, All Music and more, the bilingual political sax punk party from Providence, RI released their debut LP ‘Full Communism’ earlier this year on Don Giovanni Records.

Since the album release, the band has taken their energetic, politically charged anthems on the road with friends and like-minded acts such as Speedy Ortiz and Priests. The band is thrilled to announce a national tour with Sheer Mag to kick off 2016.

‘Full Communism’ comes at a current critical moment in the struggle for justice being fought in the US and throughout the world. It is set to a commanding tempo programmed make you move regardless of whether singer Victoria Ruiz is singing or shouting. Impossible to categorize and comprised of a formidable voice, two saxophones, guitar, bass and drums, Downtown Boys scathing energy is palpable in every room they take hold of.
