Clear your calendar and dust off your earplugs—L7 are throwing themselves a birthday party, and we’re all invited. On Friday, October 3, the legendary punk-grunge powerhouse will take over The Belasco Theater in downtown Los Angeles for L7’s 40th Anniversary Bash, a night that promises to be just as unhinged and electric as their four-decade legacy demands.
The lineup? Just announced and already iconic: L7, Lunachicks, and CSS are set to bring the noise. Yep, it’s a triple shot of chaos, charisma, and pure rock adrenaline—and that’s just the start. More performers are still to be revealed.

This marks the second year in a row L7 have stormed The Belasco. Their 2024 Fast and Frightening Takeover lit up the LA scene with music, art, and wall-rattling energy, drawing attention from LA Times, KCRW, BrooklynVegan, and basically anyone who still believes in the power of live music. Now, they’re back—and this time it’s personal. Think: bigger party, louder riffs, and a whole lot of cathartic chaos.
The night is curated by L7 frontwoman Donita Sparks, who summed it up best: “This will mark the second year of our annual takeover… and it coincides with L7’s 40th anniversary, so we are making it a big party!”
Donita and bassist Suzi Gardner first formed L7 back in 1985, surviving lineup changes, industry BS, and what she lovingly calls “misogynist rock dinosaurs.” Through it all, they’ve not only survived—they’ve thrived. And now they’re throwing a party with the people who’ve been part of the wild ride.
Lunachicks will reunite with L7 onstage for the first time since 1990—a full-circle moment that takes us back to their shared CBGBs stomping grounds. Sparks calls it “a momentous event of insanity and rock and roll.” Add CSS to the mix, and you’ve got a genre-defying, dance-your-face-off energy boost that’ll leave your Doc Martens melted to the floor.
The bash will feature five bars, two stages, and a fully all-ages setup—so whether you’ve been moshing since the ’90s or you’re just now discovering what real rock feels like, there’s space for you in the pit.
So yeah, it’s not just a concert—it’s a celebration of survival, sisterhood, and still being loud as hell. Come for the nostalgia, stay for the total obliteration of silence.
Get ready, LA. L7’s bringing the noise—again.
