Dilly Dally premiere new track ‘Purple Rage’

Dilly Dally’s Purple Rage is premiering today on Noisey (but you can also stream it via Soundcloud below), whose Bryn Lovitt tied the energy of the song to digital conversation spurred last week by Jessica Hopper, calling the track “ever so empowering and perfectly appropriate…feminist punk rock.” They can’t seem to put out a bad track lately and their debut album, ‘Sore’ appears to be a solid record. We can’t wait to pick it up.

Dilly Dally’s Katie Monks told Noisey:

“This song is meant to be an anthem for channelling all the rage we have into something positive. When I have been badly hurt in the past, I am usually filled with a huge amount of energy. I always try to use that energy to make myself ‘stronger’ and ‘tougher.’ For me, that has meant working harder on the band and my art shit, quitting cigarettes cold turkey after being a pack a day smoker, dying my hair weird colours, investing more energy into my friends… all kinds of stuff. It’s kinda like you become a superhero version of yourself… and no one can fuck with you.”

The band’s first LP, ‘Sore,’ is due out on October 8th via Partisan in the US and Buzz Records in Canada. The album’s first single, Desire, has been subject to near universal acclaim and has positioned Sore as one of the most anticipated debuts of 2015. In support of the record, Dilly Dally will be embarking on their first North American headlining tour.
