Upcoming EP ‘Another Night’ lands October 17, 2025
Severe Girls are here to rattle your brain in the best way possible. Emerging from somewhere between Manchester and Liverpool, the power-punk melodists drop their latest single Fill My Head — a four-minute blast of college-radio-ready chaos and hook-laden alt-rock energy.
Helmed by songwriter, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist Andrew Richardson — whose resume boasts stints drumming for Thurston Moore, Infinite Bisous, Aldous RH, and Francis Lung — Severe Girls channel the restless edge of Buzzcocks, the scrappy charm of Guided By Voices, and the bite of Wipers into something sharp, messy, and magnetic.
“Fill My Head is a bit about questioning religion, or a belief in something ‘greater,’” says Richardson. “And a bit about egos… and intrusive thoughts. They could all be the same thing, right? Whatever it is, it grips you. It slips into your head and just… lives there, rent-free.”
This is only the third official release from Severe Girls, following their 2022 debut Ghosts and last summer’s T6, but Richardson’s deliberate, slow-burn approach has paid off. Fill My Head hits like indie gold — raw enough to feel alive, polished enough to stick.
The single previews the upcoming EP ‘Another Night,’ out October 17, 2025 via Bandcamp and YouTube only — a fittingly DIY move for a band that thrives on existing just outside the mainstream.
