Industrial techno duo Snowbeasts are back in full force, unleashing a new remix-loaded chapter of their hard-hitting single Abuse of Power. Originally pulled from their 2025 album ‘Dire Days’ (ReEntertainment), the track now returns as an expanded remix EP featuring a stacked lineup of dark electronic heavyweights who push the song even deeper into the club—and straight into the bloodstream.
At its core, Abuse of Power is peak Snowbeasts: charged EBM energy, industrial techno muscle, and a message that refuses to stay quiet. It’s a dancefloor weapon with a conscience, taking aim at corruption, exploitation, and the oppressive systems grinding endlessly in the background of modern life. Relentless beats, heavy basslines, and hard, punishing kicks create a claustrophobic pulse, while ominous atmospheres give the track its brooding edge.
Lyrically, the song lands like a cold stare. Vocalist Elizabeth Virosa delivers the mantra in her signature deadpan, morose style—measured, controlled, and devastatingly effective. It’s less shouted protest, more grim reality check, and that restraint makes it hit even harder.
The remix collection cranks up the intensity and adds fresh movement to the original’s raw power:
- Hexmaschine (Kevin Brown) speeds things up with a higher BPM and a slick ’90s trance-techno edge, turning the track into a late-night sweatbox burner.
- Caustic (Matt Fanale) leans into groove and acid, delivering a body music remix that’s equal parts hypnotic and corrosive.
- Sawtooth (Lillian Martin) brings the stomp—layering harsh industrial textures with political speech samples that expand the song’s sense of urgency and dread.
Together, these remixes amplify the original’s message while making it even more club-ready. Pulsating EBM rhythms pull listeners into a shared space—moving together, thinking together, and finding power in collective resistance under flashing lights and pounding subs.
About Snowbeasts
Hailing from Providence, Snowbeasts—Robert Galbraith and Elizabeth Virosa—have been carving out their own lane in post-industrial and experimental dance music since 2014. With over 20 releases to their name (including collaborations with Dead Voices on Air), the duo are known for hardware-driven performances built around modular synths, drum machines, and commanding vocals—what they aptly describe as “fever dream horrorscapes.”
Their latest album ‘Dire Days’ has earned serious praise, with Igloo Magazine calling it “a brutalist manifesto for a world on edge,” and drawing comparisons to Front Line Assembly, Front 242, and ADULT.. With Abuse of Power and its remixed reinforcements, Snowbeasts continue to prove they’re not just soundtracking dark times—they’re confronting them head-on, one pounding beat at a time.
