Public Circuit are giving ‘Modern Church’ the remix treatment — and they brought the wWhole Brooklyn squad

Brooklyn electronic trio Public Circuit just announced ‘Modern Church R//mix//s’, a full remix album dropping April 28 — and they didn’t go looking far for collaborators. They tapped a murderers’ row of NYC scene heavyweights: Lip Critic, Shower Curtain, Grumpy, The Wants, smush, ideasforconversations and Crate. If you’ve been paying attention to what’s been bubbling up out of Brooklyn lately, this tracklist reads like a dream lineup.

To kick things off, the band dropped their own remix of Damager — their self-proclaimed favourite cut from the record. The rework is lean, mean, and built for the dance floor: no fat, all electronic synth muscle. Stream it here.

The original ‘Modern Church’ came out in September 2025 and had a hell of a run — US and European dates, two sold-out shows in Berlin, and four nights opening for LCD Soundsystem at their legendary Knockdown Center residency in Queens. High praise has been rolling in too, with outlets calling them “a more eclectic, ecstatic take on industrial” and noting they “sound like they could have been on DFA Records in 2005 (in a good way).” We’ll take that.

On why the remix album exists, the band put it simply: “We wanted to put out the remixes to not only highlight all our amazing friends who make amazing music, but also to revive these songs into all the different worlds we believe they belong to exist in.”

That’s the spirit.
