Camp Wavelength announces final line-up + schedule

Camp Wavelength 2016 poster

Camp Wavelength, Toronto’s only camping and music summer festival, will return to Toronto Island  August 19th – 21st, and have announced this year’s line-up. With a major focus on local, innovative, and community-run culture, Camp Wavelength invites you to immerse yourself in the escapism of Toronto Island for a weekend of summer-camp fun.

The musical portion of the festival will include utilitarian punks Cloud Nothings, dream-pop sensations Operators, ’80s synth-pop troubadours Young Galaxy, neo-classical pop singer/songwriter Lydia Ainsworth, industrial-tinged noise-rock trio Odonis Odonis, and R&B electro-pop superstar Jef E. Barbara’s Black Space, balanced with interactive activities such as a dancing puppet show, synchronized swimming, live painting, DIY video games, an Island treasure hunt, a Bunz Trading Zone trade table + more, topped off with interactive installations & performance art by local artists. Wavelength has also commissioned dance artist Benjamin Kamino to collaborate with selected musical artists on special “performance interventions” throughout the festival. And the festivities will be opened by French electronic ambient pop trio, M.A BEAT!

Local food vendors at this year’s festival will include The Food Dudes, Island Cafe, the Monarch Tavern, The Pop Stand, and Little Sea Smoothies & Wraps, with beverage partners including Steam Whistle Brewing, Wild Turkey Bourbon and Skyy Vodka.

Single day tickets and very limited Camping, Festival & VIP Room Passes are now available online at TicketFly.com and in stores at Rotate This (186 Ossington Ave.) and Soundscapes (572 College St.) For the first time ever, festival-goers also have the opportunity to purchase a VIP Room Pass to stay in a private room on the festival site, inside the comfort of the Artscape Gibraltar Point artist retreat centre.
